Grab your VR goggles and hop onboard, Mpls-St. Paul!

Watch the CHAOS unfold!

In 2017, Motionpoems partnered with Pixel Farm Creative and Egg Music to create a first-of-its-kind 360º VR experience aboard the Twin Cities Green Line train. Using geolocation, riders can use Google Cardboard or any other VR viewer to experience a surreal and haunting virtual environment that emulates the train’s actual movement and orientation. The experience is still available. Download the Chaos on the Green Line app free for iOS or Android in your favorite app store, and climb aboard!

The world of CHAOS is populated by three recurring characters, including Father Nature and Mortal Joy. This non-linear, “discoverable” narrative includes a herd of buffalo, a flaming airplane ride over mountains of coal smoke, a swarm of electronic cockroaches, and a host of other visual surprises.

The project’s remarkable success opens the door for future installations of this kind. Motionpoems is now seeking VR teams from around the world to complete the entire 23-ride line from Minneapolis to Saint Paul in 2018 – nearly an hour of moving VR! The Blue Line from the airport to downtown Minneapolis is another ready canvas. Contact us at info@motionpoems.org to get involved.

CHAOS was created using all pro-bono and volunteer support. To sponsor the 2018 experience, contact info@motionpoems.org.

CHAOS was conceived by Motionpoems Artistic and Executive Director Todd Boss and visualized by Artistic Director Jeff Stevens and the animation team at Pixel Farm of Minneapolis.

The project’s premiere was sponsored by the Northern Spark art festival.
